CYANOGENMOD 9 For Galaxy Mini

CyanogenMod (pronounced /sa?.'æn.o?.d??n.m?d/) is an open source replacement firmware based on the Android mobile operating system for smart phones and tablet computers. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support (also called the "T-Mobile Theme Engine"), Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, a reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. CyanogenMod is also stated to increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.[4]
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.
Although only a subset of total CyanogenMod users elect to report their use of the firmware,[5] as of 7 June 2012, CyanogenMod has recorded over 2.3 million installs on a multitude of devices.[6][7]

Note : Those who have Gingerbread OS and any Custom Recovery installed on their device can skip Step 1 and Step 2. You can also skip these steps if you have any other custom rom installed on your device. 1. Upgrade your firmware to Gingerbread using Odin Multidownloader v4.38. 2. Install any custom recovery available for Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop. You may either have Clock Work Mod Recovery or RZ Recovery - any is fine. 3. Download CyanogenMod 9 from the site of GALAXYICS 4. Copy the downloaded file to the (root directory of) your sd-card. 5. Reboot your device to Custom Recovery (Press Home + Power Button). 6. [Optional but, Recommended] Do a Nandroid Backup of your current rom. 7. Choose Install Zip From Sd Card>>Choose Zip From SD Card option and then select the file (named: cm_tass-beta4.zip ) you downloaded from above. Note : If you are using RZ Recovery, choose Install Menu>>Select cm_tass-beta4.zip you downloaded>>Select Wipe Data and Wipe Cache>>Choose Install cm_tass-beta4.zip and wait till the rom is flashed. 8. Wait till the rom is flashed/installed on your device. Once done, Wipe Data and Wipe cache from recovery menu. 9. Reboot your device from your recovery main menu. After you reboot your device, be patient and wait for few minutes since it will take some time during first boot. Once it successfully boots to the home-screen you can start enjoying latest CyanogenMod 9 Beta 4 custom rom on your Samsung Galaxy Pop/Mini GT-S5570. This rom has many improved features and the music app has a lot of changes. Go through it's settings and explorer for a while. The sound is quite good and my phone is still at 70% charge since yesterday when I last charged my phone, so one can say battery is also quite good. And, there are many other things to explorer and test in the Settings too. Go through all of these and once you are done with enough exploration don't forget to share your excitement with us at the comments below. Also, if you want to find out more about this rom Or, just want to say thanks or donate some amount to the developer then please do so at this development thread on xda-developers forums. Have a nice time, licking the latest Ice Cream Sandwich based CM9 :D.
